Outstanding student of the year award

Dear All

 

as announced during silver jubilee meet last year, Alumni Association is involved in rewarding best performing student of the year. The award includes a certificate and a cash prise of Rs 15,000 (courtesy Raj Shroff (Prod 1987)). The award is decided by the three person committee of Prof. CV Deshmukh, Prof. Khan, And Shashikant (Raghu) Morey.

 

This years' Govindbhai & Sushilaben Shroff' award was given to Tejas Bhatkar (Civil, 2011).  Tejas has been a college topper during first six semester and ranked First in university for seventh semester. She has also spoken at two national level conferences and co-ordinated efforts for organizing paper presentation conference in COETA. Her project-work on Sustainable development has been registered for Holcim Regional Awards 2011.

Launching Alumni Website !

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day... Edith Lovejoy Pierce

A year ago (Jan 2010) around this time we were busy planning COETA -Silver Jubilee function by Alumni Association. It was quite eventful year wherein alumni association organized resume writing & interview skills sessions, a lecture on career opportunities in research, a seminar on virtual learning tools for the students. One major achievement of the year was alumni supported for 100% placement of the textile branch. We hope the similar feet is repeated by other branches in the current year.  Lively alumni discussions on email group and starting of job postings was another highlight of the passing year.

Almost after a year of our meeting, on this new year day we are excited to announce launch of official Alumni Association website - www.coetaalumni.org. Over the past 25 years, graduates of COETA have achieved several milestones and its alumni is diverse, talented, and invigorating community. The website will be a gateway of this community to strengthen ties among themselves and between alumni & COETA. 

The website has

• Powerful search tool - helps you to search your lost friends (you need to use enrollment link below the search button to add your details). You can search by year, branch and (permanent) city of residence of the members. On the results page, you can find details updated profiles of the members matching the search criterion. (To restrict spammers and hackers, search enrollment details will be manually verified and hence will require 24 to 48 hrs before your details are uploaded on the website)
• Section on how the alumni association came into being (About us)
• Section on objectives of alumni association and membership rules & benefits 
• Discussion board on the front page fetches the discussion from the Google group
